To Find Site:- This campsite is about 35 kms south of Koblenz on the A61 Autobahn, take exit 43 and follow signs to Pfalzfeld. The campsite is just through the village of Pfalzfeld in the direction of Hausbay and is well signed.

Schinderhannes, which is open all year, is a useful campsite situated not far from the A61 which offers possibilities of either an over night stay but is worth a longer stay if you have time. It is quite a large campsite which is split into three sections. One for permanent vans which are separate from the touring pitches. There are several hardstanding areas for overnight transit stays. The rest of the site is for normal use and the pitching areas are split into pleasant woodland glades. Most pitches have electric hook-ups but not all, the ones without I suspect are mainly used by tent campers. Water and drainage are available in each pitching area. Reception, which is open all day and stays open well into the evening for late arrivals, has internet access available, local information, and you can also purchase drinks and ice cream. Behind Reception is a small shop where you can buy bread, bottled drinks and basic foodstuffs, but it is only open between 7.00 and 10.00am each morning.  Adjacent to the shop is the smaller of the two toilet blocks and perhaps could be a bit strained given the number of transit campers. However further into the site is the largest toilet block I have ever seen on a campsite! It is on two levels with mainly WC's in the downstairs section.  At ground level it houses all the usual facilities include some very large shower cubicles and some family showers. Both blocks are heated and maintained to a very good standard. Schinderhannes has a very nice restaurant which is worth a visit, but be warned they have big portions! On site there is a lake which can be used for fishing (permit needed), it also looks as if it could be used for boating and swimming. This campsite accepts Camping Cheques. Date of visit August 2005.

This campsite is situated about half way between the Mosel and Rhine so there are many opportunities for excursions. Likewise nearer to the campsite there are cycle paths and lots of places to walk. For more serious food shopping the nearest town to the campsite with a supermarket is Emmelshausen about 6 miles away.
