To find site:- From A35/N35 turn left onto Oostweg at camping sign. Turn right onto Gronausestraat, again following campsite signs and right at traffic lights into Esmarkeln. Proceed with care as it can get a bit crowded when children are being collected from the school. At the top of the road turn left and campsite is a short distance on the right. This campsite is situated on the edge of an urban area on the outskirts of the town of Enschede. The majority of units on site are either permanent static caravans or long term campers. However the campsite does have a nice touring section with each pitch having its own water and waste disposal point. Electric connections are rated at 10amps and use CEE17 blue connectors. There is also a tent field with water stand pipes and a few electric points. Children are well catered for with playground for small ones and a large kick about area for older ones plus a large, but deep, swimming pool. Most of this is set out in front of the Bar/Restaurant. The reception includes a small shop selling essentials, including a very good value Sherry! The older toilet blocks have been replaced with a modern block with seated toilets which include paper. The site accepts the ACSI Card in the low season. We were able to get all UK FTA TV stations with our 80cm dish. There is site wide WiFi which is free to use. The campsite has a fishing lake. Date of visit May 2011. We used the site as a staging point for going further east so apart from the immediate area we did not explore very far. Reception have leaflets with details on the local area. Being Holland there are many safe cycleways. For shopping there is a supermarket on the main road not far from the site.
