Camping Delftse Hout is part of a greater recreational area which includes other leisure facilities including a large lake which is used for fishing and swimming, all this is very popular with the residents of Delft, particularly at weekends. The site has touring pitches, seasonal and permanent pitches. The touring pitches are generally level and of about 90 sq meters in size and set out in small groups so it does not feel crowded even when the site is almost full. Most pitching areas are surrounded by shrubs and mature trees which provides shade. The excellent toilet/shower facilities are in the same building as Reception. Although this is centrally situated it is some distance from the furthest pitches, particularly when it comes to chemical toilet and rubbish disposal Reception is most helpful in providing information on local transport and local attractions. Adjacent to the main reception area is small shop selling most essentials although Reception will direct you to a more comprehensive supermarket if required. To complete the amenities of the site are a bar/restaurant, swimming pool and children's play area. Bicycles can also be hired from reception. Camping Cheques Accepted.
Delft is only a short distance away and the energetic would find it a reasonably easy walk. However there is an excellent bus service that leaves every 15 minutes, on weekdays, from the site entrance. Tickets can be purchased at reception. The bus will also take you to Delft railway station where you can take trains to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and many other destinations. The town of Delft is a delight and you can wander around for hours.
