To find site:- Leave Autoroute at Montelimar and head for Le Teil and then take road towards Aubanas. Just past Villeneuve de Berg turn left onto D103 and then the D579 to Ruoms. South of Ruoms take the D111 towards Grospierres, turn right just past Grospierres village sign and follow camp signs. Final approach to site narrow in places.

Ranc Davaine is a large site with over 400 pitches. Unfortunately, as seems to be the custom these days, more and more of the pitches seem to be given over to mobile homes and permanent tents. This leaves most of the 120 touring pitches at one end of the site. The advantage being that you are away from any noise created by the restaurant, pool or stage area but it's a long walk to the loo. A possible problem for average to larger outfits is the access to the pitches. The presence of trees and low stone walls can make it difficult to get into the pitching areas, although pitch size is very good. The campsite facilities are excellent. The toilet blocks are spotless and modern. There is a superb swimming pool complex which is bordered by the restaurant-bar. The site has a fairly comprehensive shop which is open in the morning and evening. There are plenty of sporting activities.

Whilst in the Ardeche region the site is not on the Ardeche River. In high season this might be an advantage as the local roads will not be as crowded. It is only a short drive to the Gorge and a drive along it is very rewarding with some very impressive views. Ruoms the nearest town is attractive and has a busy market. On the road into Ruoms is big supermarket.
