Camping Municipal Molsheim, 6 Rue des Sports, Molsheim, Tel
0388498245
To Find Site:- Leave A352 at junction 11 onto D500 which after
first roundabout becomes the D2422 passing Cora supermarket on the left.
Continue
to where road crosses railway, you need to be in left hand lane. Once
over railway bear round to right following camping signs. At roundabout
turn left and campsite is on the right almost immediately after crossing
River Bridge. Be aware that there is no parking immediately outside the
campsite and only space for one outfit to access the site at a time.
This pleasant municipal campsite is situated on the edge of
Molsheim which is a short walk away. The reception is closed between
midday and 3.00pm and the entrance is barrier controlled. During that
time an employee of the site will come and let you into the site to get
sited, you then book in when reception reopens.
There are around 90 pitches all on grass. Most
are quite generous in size. In very wet weather the pitches can be quite
slippy, particularly for motorhomes. Electric points are convenient to
all pitches, they use CEE17 blue connectors and are rated at 10 amps.
Best to check for reverse polarity. Water points are dotted around the
site but grey water disposal is only available either at the motorhome
waste point or the chemical emptying point. The toilet block is situated
towards the back of the site, it is of a good quality and has seated
toilets and paper provided. Within the block is a function room and
events are sometimes organised with seating outside. For children there
is a small playground. There is site wide WiFi which is free and once
past the strange log-in procedure it is of reasonable signal strength.
Bread
can be ordered at reception. Despite being in an urban environment we
found the site quite peaceful, particularly at night. The site is in the
ACSI discount scheme and also has an offer, certainly during the low
season of every fifth night being free which makes it a very reasonably
priced site. The town of Molsheim is worth exploring. It’s not very large and an easy walk from the site. Reception have a leaflet detailing a walk through the town. For car enthusiasts there is a Bugatti Museum as the cars were once manufactured here. Across from the campsite is a Municipal Swimming Pool and it’s not unusual for there the be an arrangement for campers to use the pool either for free or at reduced prices. During our visit it seemed to be undergoing refurbishment. For food shopping there is a handy Super U just a short walk from the site, they also sell fuel.
