Camping Park Ohmbachsee, 66901 Schnenberg-Kubelberg am Ohmbachsee, Tel 063734001
To Find Site:- Leave A6 motorway at junction 11 and follow road
for about 3 miles and watch out for campsite sign just before
Schnenberg-Kubelberg.
Campingpark Ohmbachsee is a large campsite with 320 pitches many
of which are taken up with permanent caravans and constructions which is
quite common in Germany although they often do nothing to enhance the
look of the site. There was also evidence of itinerant workers being
present on site although in fairness this was not an issue. The touring
pitches, which are grouped on terraces, are on three sides of the
facility block, Grass is in short supply and the pitches did get muddy
in wet weather. There seemed to be no pitch markers so difficult to
establish where you are meant to position your unit. There are further
pitching areas on the approach to the Lake but these did not look as if
they were in use during our visit in early May. The is one toilet block
which takes up a couple of floors of a large house. Whilst kept clean
they could do with a major upgrade as they are showing their age. They
contain seated toilets and paper is provided in the cubicles. Electric
points are rated at 16amps and use CEE17 connectors. There is a
motorhome service point but access looks tight for longer units. Water
taps are dotted around the touring areas. Bread can be ordered at
reception and the same building contains a restaurant and beer garden
which overlooks a small swimming pool. Next to reception is a takeaway
but there appeared to be no menu or price list on display. Expect some
aircraft noise as the site seems to be on the flight path to a military
airfield. The site has free WiFi access across the site but you need to
get a ticket from reception with the log in details. Both ACSI and
Camping Cheques are accepted at this campsite in the low season.
The town of Schonenberg-Kubelberg is about 4 kms from the site
and has a full range of shops. The site is handy for a short stop over
off the A6 motorway. The Ohmbachsee Lake is only a short walk from the
site and it has paths and cycleway all the way round.
