This Caravan Club Site is situated in Cirencester Park so there are plenty of opportunities for walks and it is a lovely location. Like quite a few other Club sites it is situated in lovely surroundings but within easy walking distance of a town. This must have been our third visit to this site, our most recent stay was in November 2004. The site is open from around Easter time until early January. There are 220 pitches of which about half are hard standing with the rest being on grass. During the winter months only the hardstandings are used. Most of the hard standings are level although to my mind a little on the narrow side, its not easy to get the van and car alongside each other although it should be OK with an awning. The site has two excellent toilet blocks, up to the usual Club standards. (only one is open during the winter months) There seems to be a fairly generous attitude to leaving time with the mid day leaving rule only put into place if they are fully booked with incoming campers. For the youngsters there is a mini adventure playground with an additional kick about area away from the pitches for older children. There is also a dog walk from the site. Reception sells milk and you can order newspapers. TV reception is poor but the site does have a booster system but don't forget to bring your own co-ax cable. I also found the mobile signal to vary a bit but its not impossible to make calls but a bit frustrating when using the internet via your phone/laptop.
Out and about, Cirencester is a delightful town and surprisingly big. You can walk to the town centre from the campsite via Cirencester Park, or if you prefer you can walk along the road which is slightly quicker. It has a good selection of shops including a very nice Waitrose near to the town centre. Swindon, Stroud and Cheltenham are all within easy reach as are numerous interesting places to visit in the Cotswold.
